I am currently a part-time Research Assistant at Dale Martin' Laboratory, Department of Biology, University of Waterloo. My projects focusing on:

  • Producing and improving nanoparticles to deliver antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) across blood brain barrier.
  • 3D analysis of palmitoylated sites using Python.

Responsibilities include:

  • Producing, improving, visualizing nano-particles in mammalian cell culture and mice primary neurons.
  • Delivering antisense oligonucleotide through mice blood-brain barrier using produced nano-particles.
  • Analyzing primary, secondary and tertiary structures of palmitoylated proteins using Python.
  • Performing a high-throughput drug screening for Huntington’s disease using 1200 autophagy-related drugs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepared and generated samples for analysis of tobacco, e-liquid, and marijuana.

Responsibilities include:

  • Induced autophagy by targetting CC domain of Beclin 1 as potential novel strategy for cancer therapy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Cloned C-terminus of human Cav 1.2 to Cav1 calcium channel of Salpingoeca rosetta.
  • Used Co-IP and Western Blot, proved interactions of two associated proteins of Lymnaea stagnalis.
  • Created antibodies of Nav2 sodium channel of Salpingoeca rosetta.
  • Trained new volunteers in laboratory, oriented and demonstrated pertinent laboratory skills.
